No-exam life insurance
Eligibility for fast underwriting, the process if you qualify, and what happens if you don't.
Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting: within age and amount bands, they make decisions from your application, Rx history, driving record and other records without ordering a paramedical exam. Some say yes or no the same day. Every quote here tells you if an exam is required, possible, or not needed.
What it changes
No exam does not mean no underwriting. The carrier verifies your answers, and a policy issued on false information can be challenged in the first two years. If the carrier's own data turns up questions, it can still request an exam or tests; you then decide whether to move forward.
Who tends to qualify
The typical profile: applicants under about age 60, applying for amounts within the carrier's accelerated range, with no significant health conditions and no tobacco or nicotine use in the past year or longer. Some carriers will use recent lab work from a doctor visit instead of requiring a new exam.
If an exam is required, a paramedical examiner comes to your home or workplace in the Benicia area for a 20 to 30 minute visit, at no charge. For healthy applicants, exam results sometimes lead to a better rate class, so it is not necessarily a drawback.
